So here you are in the final interview and the interview is beginning to wrap up. You have nailed every question and can tell that you are the perfect fit for this opportunity. The hiring manager asks one more question before they walk you out…
Do you have any questions for us?
This is your last impression… never say no! What the hiring manager is really asking is have you done your research and have you been listening. Can you ask questions that were not answered during the interview process? Can you be engaging?
Ask questions like: What drew you to this company? What do you expect within the first 90 days of employment? Where do you see this organization in 5 years? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I love the last question! Asking a hiring manager where he sees himself/herself in five years let’s you know if they are truly happy where they are, if there is opportunity for growth within the company and shows you more about the type of person you will be working for and with. It also catches them a little off guard and shows interest in their personal development… an easy way to have an engaging conversation
There is one more question I recommend if you know the interview is going well.
When can I start?
Let them know you want the job and are ready to accept in one simple question.
